Financial Advisor

Turning Point is looking to hire a financial advisor to join our winning team. You will spend your day working with clients or prospective clients, and your activities will include prospecting and marketing for new client relationships as well as servicing existing clients.

You will work with a Financial Planning and Operations team to deliver comprehensive financial plans, investment advice and insurance solutions. The ideal applicant is a self-starter, coachable, and someone who wants to be part of something bigger than themselves but also has a hunger for personal success. Turning Point is unique because our services are client and planning-centric vs. investment or insurance sales focused. We are fiduciaries and have a great culture that is partly due to the passion we have for helping bring financial clarity and support to many different people as they encounter life’s turning points.Financial Advisor Responsibilities:•You will develop new client relationships based on your own efforts, and Turning Point will support you in the process with ideas, tools and coaching.

The ultimate measure of your success will depend on your ability to attract new clients, and we help by allowing you to offer multiple services that are very much needed and relevant to the mass affluent.•You will be finding clients who want to engage in a financial planning process that helps solve for any number of financial issues (college funding strategies, retirement preparedness, special needs planning, career changes, marital status changes, business owner success strategies, etc.). This process is team based and the Financial Advisor plays a pivotal role in the process but does not have to do all of the work alone. We don’t promote a “super-hero” status for Financial Advisors, but clients who work with advisors using our service model sometimes might think of their Advisors (and the team that works with them) as super heroes! Our process results in incredibly satisfied clients and Advisors who have the ability to grow faster because they don’t get overly bogged down in administrative service responsibilities. Our financial planning team supports the planning process, and investment and insurance expertise is built-in to help the advisor deliver a strong and repeatable client experience.

When clients have questions you will be responsible for providing answers, so you must be dependable and able to follow up in a timely and professional manner. Sometimes Our Operations team also helps by answering as many non-securities questions as possible, but you are ultimately responsible for ensuring a high level of service.
You also will be highly engaged in client onboarding, planning and the servicing process; you’ll deliver the investment and insurance solutions and will help to coordinate tax and estate planning services when needed.
Client reviews are automatically scheduled so you will provide annual (at a minimum) reviews according to the firm’s standards (we call this the “TPF Way”) and will need to follow the firm’s process.

We don’t expect you to necessarily be an analyst, but you will need to know how to navigate financial document summaries, investment performance reports and income projections for clients. Above all, you will need to be a good cultural fit and must be able to work as a team player with the staff and other advisors. We work hard, and also like to enjoy life – sometimes together, during various events and at team retreats.

Financial Advisor Requirements:

  • Existing client book (transferrable within 2 years) is highly preferred. If you don’t have a book of business you will need to hustle to build one.
  • Bachelor degree (business, finance or related field is preferred).
  • Minimum of two years of sales experience in a financial services field.
  • Current FINRA Series 65 or 66 required.
  • Current life and health license or ability to obtain within 3 months.
  • Valid driver’s license.
  • Knowledge of mutual fund, securities, and insurance industries.
  • Proficient in Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
  • Comfortable using a computer for various tasks.
  • Experience providing professional service through delivering quality financial advice.
  • Must have a positive, growth-oriented attitude and be open to continuous improvement and participation in
