Kurt began his financial services career in New York and moved his family to Baltimore in the mid-1990s to work with the Legal and Compliance Department at Legg Mason. He served as a Managing Director and worked closely with advisors, traders and research analysts throughout the U.S. and Europe. After more than 20 years in management, Kurt decided to get back to why he originally became a part of this industry – to help people.
In addition to his numerous securities licenses, he went on to earn the prestigious CFP® (Certified Financial Planner) designation and is now employed as a Financial Advisor with Turning Point Financial, based in Frederick, MD. Turning Point Financial is a full-service financial services firm where advisors offer value-driven solutions: retirement planning; retirement income strategies; college savings plans; estate planning; tax maximization strategies and insurance solutions. Kurt’s values are in perfect alignment with those at Turning Point – summed up with the words “people first”.
In Kurt’s words:
“I joined Turning Point Financial because of the intangibles we offer, differentiating us from most other financial firms. We have a very strong and diverse team that is charitably inclined, and we truly foster a family-friendly environment for employees and clients. Moreover, because it is fiercely independent, we do not sell proprietary products! We have the flexibility to offer the type of services traditional brokerage firms simply cannot. Turning Point has no minimum account sizes or trading fees and we respect clients from all walks of life. Finally, our financial planning platform is miles ahead of any other firm that I’ve seen in my 29 years in the industry. Our COMPASS program offers an incredibly valuable benefit of financial clarity and direction. These are the reasons that I am proud to be a part of the Turning Point family!”
As a fiduciary, Kurt puts the client’s needs ahead of his own. He is particularly good at helping people simplify the complicated and work through various expected (and unexpected) turning points in their lives. For more information, contact Kurt today.
